Most of the gain landed in the rest gaps, not the practice bursts. In those gaps the brain replayed the sequence about 25 times. 01 Pick one small thing to drill, a few seconds long at most. 02 Run it for ten seconds at a pace you can hold. 03 Stop for ten seconds and let your hands sit. 04 Go again, and keep the swap going for about ten minutes. 05 Leave the gaps empty. That rest gap is yours already. // VoiceStream That man is a volunteer at UC Davis, in the BrainGate2 trial. His neural signals reach a voice in about 25 milliseconds. That is roughly the delay on your own speech. Listeners caught about 60% of his words. Without the implant they caught 4%. And he can bend the pitch. A statement turns into a question, or into a melody.
